Patch Design Changes
Some of you have been in Pathfinders for many years. If so, you may have some AY Honor Patches that look different then those that you ordered for your Pathfinders this year. See the notes below to explain some of the changes that have taken place.

Arts And Crafts
Currency- moves in here from Recreational so now has a light blue background
Photography- a modern camera replaces the old bellows type
Stamps- same as Currency

Health and Science
A new category with purple background includes several from Outreach Ministries and three from Nature.
First Aid series- heart with a red cross instead of the old cross, letter J, etc.

Recreation
Caving- from a design that meant nothing to a design of a cave entrance viewed from inside.

Vocational
This is where the bulk of the changes have taken place current honors:
Auto Mechanics- from a set of wrenches used for plumbing to a car on a repair rack
Teaching- from a U.S. flag to a U. N. flag
Typing- from an old upright typewriter to a modern style
Journalism, Evangelism, Christian Salesmanship -- small color changes to fit the new color background
reintroduced honors (formerly in the Antique section) which were discontinued 30 years ago:
Accounting, Barbering, Bookbinding, House Painting, Plumbing, Wallpaper hanging, Shoe Repair, Shorthand-- all added color changing from plain black designs to be more attractive to kids

1997 AY Honor Manual Patch printing mistakes:
There are two mistakes in the black and white printing of the Handbook (the color pages are correct).

• The Shells Honor token is upside down (the Advanced is correct)
• The Advanced Swimmers Honor shows the Advanced Beginners token
