So I am odd,

I collect old MV and other adventist pins.

I have old MG pins with 4 stars (Master Comrade), a pre cold war Comrade pin now Guide and all of the other early classes. An old threaded (<I got beeped there) back MV pin and others. I know these are not even heard of in trading but I enjoy the history of them.

I think the rarest ones I have 3 California ones (the triangle ones). They are out of a set of like 14. I waslucky to get as many as 3.

I think I saw a lighthouse blinkie as part of the Carolina 3-pin set.

I also have several old MV pins.
There is one that looks a lot like a Star Trek communicator.
It has a M and a V in an oval.

People are always asking me what that pin is.

I have that pin. I love them all but enjoy truly the rarest of the old ones. I am hoping someday to have collected enough such parts and full uniforms to have a "museum" of sorts for the development of Pathfinders and Ay from the old MV Department.

Most of my old pins do not get seen often now though, I keep them locked up and inventoried so as to continue toward that exhibit goal.

God Bless,

The Gulf States Lighthouse Blinking set is a new set - includes a Panhandle of Florida lighthouse pin, a pin each from Mississippi and Alabama, and a FOF logo pin in the center. They were made brand new for this camporee. Really special - I think the conf. only made 1500.

There were only 100 full sets possible for the blinking light 1999 ARKLA airplane pin set from Discover the Power. In reality, there were less than 50 sets collected because different colors of the pin were sold individually breaking up the possiblity of a full set.

There were only 900 total blinking light balloon pins for Faith on Fire. Of these there were less than 30 full sets collected because of individual pin sales. Most popular was the red, white & blue.

The airplane set (6 colors) was the first Pathfinder blinking light pin at a camporee.

I have a pennsylvania pin with the black border, there weren't a lot of those because they were a mess up, they were supposed to have a gold border. I also have an NNEC pin from DTP.

I at one time had both the gold and black border penn pins. I traded them for about 3 different colored michigans

A couple of years ago, I designed a patch for one of our Camporees that was a pair of work gloves. This patch was for an outreach/community service type Camporee. At FOF, I saw that patch as a pin. It turns out that the company that made our patch thought we wanted a pin and made the pins by mistake. The Conference bought all the glove pins he had at FOF and we have given them out to those that were at that Camporee.

That is a special pin to me as I didn't know it was a pin until half way through FOF.

Does everyone know there is a website for viewing Pathfinder Pins? The site does not trade, only shows pictures of pins. You can submit photos of your pins and they are added to the website.

Did not know there was a web site. Cool site.
I will have to send them pictures of several pins now.

Thats cool Mike. I designed some Regional Camporee Patches a number of years ago I know how they can be sentimental, that is neat that you were able to come across these pins.

Hi

I'm kinda happy with the pins I collected @ Oshkosh, altough I'm not to sure how great they are. My top 3:

1. I have one of the two parts of the NASA Pin I got from Florida. I was told that only 4 people had that pin (On another day I was told by another guy that he would not trade his because very few people had it :D ).

2. The Spinner

3. The Michigan set (w/out the Rainbow)

If any of you know anything about the real value of the NASA Pin, please reply.

Thanks.

Sorry - no info on the NASA pin here. I did find some really cool pins going to different Army sites. I went to the USS Alabama in Mobile. I found pins not only for the ship (which is really awesome!), I also found a pin supporting "Operation Enduring Freedom", which is what my brother is doing right now. It's awesome. I've been getting several military pins so I can trade at a future camporee.

I have the Laguna Seca 1992 Pacific Union Camporee

The Central California Conference Discover the Power

Dare To Care in purple hexagon

The new world PF logo

50 years commemorative pin

and the Central California Conference pin

BUT.... special pins I've collected since include a CCPOA (California Correctional Peace Officers Association) set. I volunteered to help with the fingerprinting program my Voyager year for community service and received a set of 3 pins, all 24k gold. A baton nightstick, handcuffs (that dangle) and a badge. I have the 24k gold "I MADE IT TO THE TOP - HALF DOME, YOSEMITE" from our Pathfinder backpacking trip, and a 24k gold USACE U.S. Army Corps of Engineers castle pin for doing extensive trailwork during my Camping Skills III honor in trail restoration.

WOULDN'T TRADE THOSE FOR THE WORLD!!

I had, and still have, both gold and black Pennsylvania pens...
I got the green and pink Michigan pins...

Does anyone know the origin of Y2K (Youth 2 the Kingdom) ladybug pins? I have a gold bordered one and a black bordered one.

I was extremely fortunate and was able to trade around to get the complete Michigan state and area set.

In the process however, I had 2 black texases, a light blue spinner and a purple spinner, aswell as parts of that rainbow set.

But yes, I am happy with the ending and the complete set of the states. Very nice :)

I remember when the bermuda flags were very popular. I like to collect pins from places all over the world. It's fun to get the rare pins... but sometimes it's just fun to have pins from everywhere, no matter their worth.
