Hello friends,

14 new honors were voted in February at the NAD Youth Ministries Convention!

Please visit the Pathfinder website for a complete list!

http://www.pathfindersonline.org/html/h ... honors.htm

The requirements and honor patches for each honor will be available simultaneously within the near future.

P.S. The poll question above only has 10 possibilities because thats all the poll allows. There are 14 new honors however! Check the link.

Congratulations on getting the Internet honor approved Mark!

I have added place markers for the new honors (from 2004-2006) to the AY Honors Answer Book Wiki: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Adventist_Youth_Honors_Answer_Book

Since Mark already has answers to the Internet honors, maybe we could talk him into adding them to the wiki. (hint, hint). That way we'd get the answers in Internet-time instead of having to wait for the NAD to publish an update to the official answer books.

Jim,

I have the answers for Christian Drama due to it was written by a friend in Ohio. I can post the answer if I know that is the same that my friend sent. Sometimes more than one person write about the same and then it get combined. Maybe Mark can help on that - you know post the questions.

That would be fantastic. There are a bunch of other honors with no official answer books too that I know people on this board love. For starters:

Mountain Biking
Geocaching

I have the answers to the geocaching honor posted on my club's website. I helped write the honor.
http://www.pathfindersrus.com/geocaching.htm

Also the information for three of the new honors, including the answers, are on this website.

I would like to have the requirements for the Tie Dye Honor. It sounds like it would be a perfect introductory honor for our new Pathfinders late this summer!

Thanks,
Christine Wall

So which honors have requirements up, and which ones don't?

And of those with requirements, I assume that all of them have the answers since they're most likely coming from the authors...

And my honor was approved by the new conference director (we were without one for a while) and my area coordinator and other clubs have agreed that they'll help us to pilot the honor.

It will be all completed by the end of the year ;)

Beginning in 2006, The requirements for the newly approved AY Honors will be available SIMULTANEOUSLY with the patches being available for purchase from Adventsource.

We wish to make sure that we don't end up with a situation where Pathfinders have earned an honor, yet are unable to receive a patch. Therefore, the requirements and patches are available simultaneously.

I would sure like to get the answers for the Christian Drama. Our club wrote the same honor but submitted it too late. I would like to see if there is overlap. Thanks.

The Christian Drama honor (as it was proposed) can be seen (with answers) in the online Wiki Answer Book at http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Adventist_Youth_Honors_Answer_Book/Outreach/Christian_Drama

A word of caution though - this is how the honor was submitted, and we do not know if the NAD modified it during the approval process.

I would just like to say that I am totaly excited about the new honors. We have an Explorer Pathfinder who absolutely loves baseball and softball, and we were just discussing making a baseball/softwall honor. She is going to be excited about the slow pitch softball. Thanks to everyone who worked hard to make these new honors a reality.

Pathfinders reported in another area that AdventSource is projecting they will have the patches in stock before September ends so we will be able to take advantage of some of these this Pathfinder year without too much difficulty.

Fish,
Do you have any idea where we could get the honor requirement sheets for these? I would like to see them, even if they are just in a draft status. Thanks,

No, sorry. NAD, for aguably good but disappointing reasons, has not let them filter out to anyone. We will all have to wait until September then when the patches are in stock I believe you can expect that pathfinders online and AdventSource will both publish efiles with the requirements.

Since the answers are required as part of the submittal hopefully one or the other will also publish a version with answers or filter it to the Wiki project.

I thought that the advanced honor was simply the regular honor with a star on it. It does not add an extra honor to the sash, and this is seperate from the teaching star as well. Is this correct?

Yes sir, for the actual patches and pins that is correct. However, some conferences (like ours) have stock piles of old patches they will use before changing over. This means that depending on the popularity of the Honor miscolored or advenced patches may be used for some time.
