Hello everyone. I'm trying to post this in as many places as I can think of, hoping that lots of people will pray. (So don't be surprised if you see this while browsing another site somewhere).

My friend Emily is my age, 17. She is in surgery tonight to try to save her vision. The retina of her right eye is torn, and the left eye is following close behind. At this point they think she's lost about 20% of the vision in her right eye. Please pray for her and her parents.

PS: She is a Pathfinder as well.

You can count on me to be praying for her.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers! Here is an email her mom sent at noon yesterday:

Quote:
As I mentioned last evening, that I would keep each of you updated as to Emily's condition. As with faith and believing in Jesus Christ.... He has been victorious again in His goodness and His healing. Emily is resting quietly at home this morning. She does however have a follow-up visit with the doctor in her area to see how the surgery and the healing is going. We are still waiting to see if she is able to regain the 20% of her eye sight the doctors say she may have lost. But I know and believe completely that He will restore her to her original eye sight.
We just never know when something will happen in our lives tragically and we just never know when we will receive that one phone call or visit that will change our lives forever...so with this experience and sense of complete helplessness I praise the Lord for His goodness and thank Him for His watch, care, and keeping.
I know that some of you may not know Emily personally but only through me. With that said I would still like to offer you her email address to send her a little word of encouragement if you'd like. Emily just had ALL of her wisdom teeth out (surgically) on the 31st of December so you see she has had two major surgeries back to back in the past few weeks. Her little body is weakened. Being seventeen and having two major surgeries in such a short period of time is a bit overwhelming. She will be on her back for about a week and a half and then slowly regain her normal schedule at school.

Thank you all for you love and prayers this weekend and thank you all for loving Jesus!

If you want to send some support/encouragement to Emily, her email address is eebs [at] eebswriter [dot] com.

She's had one or two more surgeries since then. They think it's caused by her 3-month premature birth. She still needs prayers, though.
