I felt like I needed to throw some praises in here. First is that I got a “B” on my GB II test! The other is a praise for God’s protection over our Pathfinder club. This past weekend was Teen Challenge for Georgia-Cumberland Conference. It proved to be a very fun weekend that ended in a very scary way… I got sick over the weekend (and still am. Another prayer request…) so I went to bed early Sabbath night. It was cold (40’s). Almost precisely at midnight, a very long and hard wind gust blew into the field that everyone was staying in. To make a long story short, this wind blast demolished our canopy. This canopy was weighted with large paint buckets filled with concrete. The wind lifted the entire thing 6 feet in the air then slammed a pole through the roof of our TLT girls’ tent. The pole stabbed into the ground narrowly missing the girls by an inch each. Another pole should have hit one of our staff if it hadn’t of fallen out midair. It really shook up our club and led us to the decision to pack up. That and also the fact that it was in the 60’s when it should have been in the 30’s and still very windy. We decided to camp out in our Pathfinder room, and consequently, had a fabulous breakfast at our church fellowship hall. I just praise God that he kept us safe!

WOW!!! I'd heard about the canopy trying to skewer two girls... but I didn't realize it was your club! Really glad to hear that everybody came out of it ok! Our canopy did get trashed too though... unfortunate.... :?

I also heard about it, and am very very glad that it didn't hurt anyone, our canopy also tried to take flight, we ended up staking it at almost every pole!
