If you find yourself in front of the TV on May 30th and have PAX television, please watch this, you won't regret it!

The inspiring story of Desmond Doss, the Seventh-day Adventist Conscientious Objector who, during World War II, bravely rescued 75 of his men and earned a Congressional Medal of Honor ( http://www.cmohs.org, http://www.desmonddoss.com) will be seen on PAX television on May 30, 9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific Time, and at 8 p.m. Central Time. Doss openly and faithfully kept the Ten Commandments throughout his service in the U.S. Army in spite of ridicule and scoffing from his peers and unfair treatment by his superiors.

Desmond Doss lived in the Georgia-Cumberland Conference for many years and has often come to the Pathfinder camporees and other events. Also many of you may remember the that Mr. Doss attended FOF camporee.

I have heard Desmond speak several times.
His story is an inspiration to what God will do if we honor him.

This should be worth our time to watch.

Mr. Mike

Yes, it runs late evening in most areas I think.

We were able to meet Desmond Doss at Faith on Fire, he autographed our DVD and we gave him one of our Wisconsin FOF t-shirts. He blew us kisses, he is a very sweet man.

Yes, the Doss film on PAX TV was great to watch.

We traveled up to Oklahoma Campmeeting this last year and I got to meet him and to see the film there. They had TV stations there from OKC and Tulsa and they had an honor guard to him with flags and lots of veterns in uniforms, etc. It was a great event to see. After the film, he was interviewed on stage and it was a joy to listen and learn.

Hey,

Sadly I didn't have the Pax channel on my cable subscription. The good news is that my parents were able to watch it in a Mississippi hotel room! I've seen the Conscientious Objector film once before - after our trip to FOF the church had a special broadcasting of the movie.

I've had the pleasure of saluting to Mr. Doss at DTP and FOF. FOF was the first time I remember seeing his wife. He is truly a role model for us to look up to.

God bless,

Marcie

Our youth group showed the movie last night at church.
Afterwards they had a game night and raised a few dollars for a community service project.
The movie was a great crowd getter. There were over 60 people there.
Not bad for a church with a member ship of 150.

Mr. Mike

The Desmond Doss DVD is NOT available in stores, at least not yet, but CAN potentially (maybe??) be purchased from the COmpany that runs the fundraiser.

Try emailing them/calling them. Their information is on the FOF Camporee website.
http://www.camporee.org

I would suggest each of us contacting our ABC and asking them to carry it. Maybe a "crowd" of requests will generate them stocking it!

Blessings,

Mark O'Ffill

I must be spoiled. You guys haven't seen him as much as I would have thought. He lives (I think he still does?) in the Georgia Cumberland Conferance. For years, while his health was still good, he was at every one of our camporees. We made him an honorary Master Guide. He is a really cool guy, and I'm really glad I've had the privalege of seeing him so much.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he moved. Down south of here wouldn't suprise me. It's probably better for his health.
