Hey everyone. Would you mind praying for me as I go to Ukraine as a Student Missionary for the next 9 months? I'll be leaving on August 24 and won't be back until the end of May 2010.

I sure will be praying for your safety to and from there, and also that the Lord will give you his words to speak as you witness for Him! May God Bless you!!

The flights and bus rides were long and taxing, but I'm finally where I'm supposed to be (I think).

And what is the hour difference?

It is seven hours. All seems well, I'm actually in the meeting to finalize what I'm doing here. It looks like I'll be working with Pathfinders (which is what I really wanted)! Keep me in your prayers.

Well, obviously we are keeping you in our prayers here at home! Be sure to come back with the foreign language honor!

I thank you for your prayers. I promise to try to have that honor earned when I come back. I'm afraid you're going to have to test me to see that I have actually earned the honor though and can order the patch. :smt042 :smt043 :smt044 :smt081 :smt082 :smt110 (Sorry I got carried away with the smilies...)

VP, the best way to show that you earned the honor is answering the question in their language.

Oh I will that's why I'm laughing.

Here's an update on how things are here. I've not been working with Pathfinders almost at all. The language barrier is still very significant. Furthermore, the conference coordinator was just removed and replaced by the youth director. Pathfinders in this conference and this city needs some serious prayers.

I'm teaching loads of English. I'm pretty much teaching one or two classes every day. I'm afraid that I'm stretching myself quite thin. I also don't have a translator for my classes all the time anymore. Please pray that I will find a solution for how busy I am and that I can get a regular translator again.

Thanks for plugging away in the face of difficulty VP. I'll be praying that you be able to make a difference and that you either get another translator or that you are able to proceed effectively without one.

I guess I should have continued to update in this area. As I have now been back in the USA for roughly 8 months, I should have posted a short report about everything that happened, at least. I'll get that posted shortly. Thank you again for the prayers that were sent up while I was gone.

Post subject:  Re: Going to Ukraine

I'm afraid that my coming was driven by the Southern Ukrainian Conference request. I will see what I can find out about more Pathfinder volunteers going to Ukraine.

My conference has a new Pathfinder Director. Maybe he can help me or even contact the Southern Ukrainian Conference about this. Pray that we can find some way to do this.
