I would like for all of you to pray for me as I make some very important choices. I have had an extremely difficult time deciding what I area I should study in and what I should do for a career. I have felt lost as to what to do with my life. I have always enjoyed Pathfinders, outdoor activities, and woodworking.

Also, I haven't been doing as well in college as I would have liked and will likely have to quit (at least for a little while). I have a few choices as to where I may be able to work, but I would rather not have to take a break from college. I have taken personality tests and learning style tests. I have had my study habits evaluated, and even have taken a class to improve my study habits further. Nothing has seemed to work. Last week, I went and got myself tested for aptitudes (inherent abilities or abilities/areas that a person is naturally good at). I have found out with all of these tests and evaluations that I don't learn as well in an educational environment that has lectures, lots of homework ("busywork"), and in areas that my interests and aptitudes don't include. To sum it up, I don't learn well in most types of modern schools. I would learn/work much better in an apprenticeship type of learning institute/program.

I don't know what to do. Please pray that the Lord will show me the way that I should go!

I'll pray for you VP. Those are some big decisions.

I'll pray for you too. Sometimes it hard to do the best choices if we don't know which are the best for us.

I will pray for the Lord's guidance in your life, VP. God bless you and guide you as you make further decisions.

You will be in my prayers VP...

I can relate to much of what you are going through. One of the reasons I am going away for a year is to take a break and figure out what I am to do. It is not the only reason, but it is still a reason. I too am struggling with grades and that is tough. I have also slowly been coming to the conclusion that things that I have always thought to be important, and traditionally are important, are not really all that important in the long run. If the Lord is truly leading you away from Southern, don't ignore it. Don't give up, but let God lead.

A little while ago, someone gave me a card with this text on it. It has been what has carried me through this semester.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Well, my decisions aren't as big as VPs, but I would appreciate your prayers as I decide what to do this summer.

I will be praying... just keep at it, and persevere, God has a plan for you and he will eventually reveal it when the time is right.
