An update and correction:
the 2 teens were actualy a father and daughter, he sadly perished and she is on life support. The 2 adult staff were also found, they are hypothermic and in the hospital.

That is so sad. I will keep them in my prayers. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose a father.

Here are two updates my Pathfinder conference sent out. This is so sad, even I don't know them personally. It strikes close to home for me. Being I"m an young adult with my dad and I both involved deeply in pathfinders. Please everyone, keep the family in your prayers.

Please keep my cousin's daughter, Jessica Darrough in your prayers. While on a Modesto SDA church trip to Monterey, she and her father Mark were swept out to sea while trying to rescue a 13-year old girl. While the girl was saved, Mark died and Jessica was rescued after being in the freezing water for nearly twenty minutes. Now my cousin Sheri has lost her husband and the fate of their daughter is uncertain. When I spoke to Sheri a few minutes ago, she told me Jessica is being kept at 32 degrees and that she is having some seizures. They aren't at the point where they can test for brain activity and only God knows if she has hope for recovery. Jessica is 23-years old.

I just spoke with my aunt and the tests have determined that Jessica is brain dead. She will be taken off of life support after my aunt and uncle arrive at the hospital. Please remember the Darrough Family and Bush families in your prayers.

Yes indeed is very sad. Losing both a husband and a daughter at the same time. Of course my prayers for both families.

What a beautiful day it will be when Christ comes back to wake the dead and to take us home.

God be with them... I also think we should be praying for the 13 yr old who is likely feeling as though it was her fault for their deaths...she has no reason to feel that way, but she probably does as I would if I were in her shoes...

My prayers and thought will include the Darrough family, their Church, the Pathfinder members, and the Club Staff!

I just want to say that my family's heart is with the Darrough's family, the ceres pathfinders staff , pathfinders and friends.
I request a special prayer for the Director of that Club Kara Claridge for her to be supported in this time of great pressure and for all the heroes of that day. Many helped to save many lives and also deserved to be pray and supported. I was there at the funeral and had the privilege of given Sherry Darrough the pathfinder flag from our conference but also let me tell you that, even that it was one of our saddest days in our conference and at the Ceres church there was lots of happy faces knowing that soon very soon we will see our Lord and Savior and also Mark and Jessica in front of our Lord and we will live with Mark, Jessica and hope the whole world for ever and ever. God Bless all. :(
