Well, the teaching went about as well as it could have considering they are a wild bunch of kids! I discovered that I had prepared way to much... I suppose though that it is better to be over-prepared than it is to be under-prepared. I guess that it went really well though, considering my co-operating teacher kept telling me that things went really well and that she like my lesson plan. But what really got me excited is that my most disruptive student had a change of heart, and was actually one of the best behaved today! One thing that I have learned is that when you remember someone's name, it goes a long ways in your favor!

Crazy Acorn,

Just accept what the cooperative teacher tells you. I do remember the same happened to me the first time that I taught. And yes, kids love it when you remember their names. So congratulations :smt038

Glad it turned out well Crazy A! I had no worries, you seem to be a natural.

On a more sad note, there was a long time pathfinder/leader in our area who recently passed away (unexpectedly), so if everybody could keep that family in their prayers!

Received this email regarding a co-worker. Please keep his wife in your prayers:

"Chris called today and asked me to release a message for him. Unfortunately, he and Cathy have just learned that Cathy has been diagnosed with Spindle Cell Neoplasm cancer.
On Monday they will meet with the surgeon who will perform a more invasive excision of the area and submit additional tissue samples for analysis. In the meantime they are contacting oncology specialists at the James to coordinate further specialized care. At this time they are anticipating both chemo and radiation therapies to be involved, but of course will learn more as they research and meet with their medical team. While serious, Cathy's condition is not considered fatal but will require an aggressive therapeutical approach."

I have a friend who is getting married this Sabbath. On Tuesday she got a slipped disk and could not walk. As of this morning (Friday) she was still in a wheelchair. This is really stressful for them and they need lots of prayer.

Also, a large group of friends of mine are headed out for a 100 (?) mile canoe trip down Florida and across part of the Gulf. Prayer for a safe journey.

One of my best friends (Chris) has been dealing with some health issues, and went in for a allergy test today. They discovered that he is dangerously allergic to at least 15 things. They sent him home with an EpiPen, and a very welted, and sore body (many, many different shots full of bad things to see if he was allergic to them). He is a very outdoorsy person and is taking some classes at SAU that require various activities that the doctor is deeming hazardous to his health. This is very discouraging for Chris.

I would like to ask that you pray for Dr. David Kessler and his family as they are mourning the loss of David’s mother who passed away unexpectedly on March 5th. He and his wife used to be directors of one of the Pathfinder club.

I'll be praying Lisa. It must be so hard. Seven weeks ago now a 19 year old friend of mine Nick (see here) was in a car accident. He is still in a coma. I'll definitely be praying for the family. This is such an old sinful world.

Is hard to lose a love one, but specially if you're on vacation. I'll get them in prayers.

I will be praying for all these...

Crazy Acorn... I had no idea shannon had hurt her back, but good to hear the wedding went well. I wanted to go, but I was on that Canoe Trip in florida, just a quick report... It went well, God protected us A LOT! From crazy weather, and being stranded on an island for 2 days, to 6 foot long diamond back rattlesnakes, it was an eventful trip but God is good and kept everyone safe!

Rider1000,
I am very glad you guys were safe. I was in the middle of backpacking and a friend had cell reception, and he got a call from one of our friends who told us about the storm and the island. You guys were in the prayers of many...
