This is actually a praise!

Last night our club meeting was cancelled due to snowy/icy weather. I live a mile from Church, so it became my job to post a sign while the directors were trying to call parents before they headed out. When I was pulling out of the parking lot (terrible exit anyway) I nearly got plowed over by an SUV that had to have been going 45 in a 35 zone with slush and ice all over the road. Scared me to death, especially since I had a pathfinder in the car with me!

Anyway, I hope the county school system kids enjoy their snow day today, while us poor Southern students have to go to school because the sidewalk are clear. I live 10 min. away! Oh, well...

Yeah... gotta love Southern. The sidewalks are clear... so it must be safe to go to school... don't worry about the people that don't live on Campus... oh well... such is life

Huh?

Good news about last night for the rest of you... we had no serious accidents in our area... The Fire Department didn't get a single call... even with all the snow

I was really amazed by that myself! I am really glad though! I actually rather enjoyed driving to and from on the SMALL amount that was on the road! and it was really nice to finally get some snow... And Crazy Acorn, I am really glad that you didn't get hit!

We're supposed to get 3 or 4 inches tonight, followed by freezing rain. I'm guessing my daughter won't have school tomorrow, but I'll still hafta go to work.

This winter has been GREAT so far. We had 44 inches of snow in December (a record), followed by 10 inches on New Year's Day, and another storm dropped 9 more on Monday. I may have forgotten one or two other storms though, I'm not sure. To be sure, some of it melted between storms, but the ground has been white since the first snowfall (which is how I like it). We've still got well over two feet n the ground.

My brother teaches HS at Ft Knox, KY, and he says they never close. "The Army doesn't close for any reason" is the line they get from the garrison commander. Never mind that the kids in school there aren't IN the army - only their parents are! And come to think of it, the teachers at his school are civilians too!

Yes, that's a good idea. Email some of it. We haven't got much snow, but plenty of low temp and wind.

Awesome, I'm glad you were safe. We had an interesting trip back from a snow fun weekend Sunday. We were cautious and everyone stayed safe. We were coming down the pass, and the trucks and cars were just crawling. Then everything stopped. They closed the highway with us on it. There was a truck accident down at the bottom. So we waited on the road for almost 2 hours. Thankfully we had a bus, so the kids were able to move around and such. We also had lots of left over food, which was also good. 8) It took us 4 hours on what is normally a 1 1/2 hour drive.

So I want to thank God that everyone stayed safe, and that the kids had a lot of fun, and gained a spiritual blessing from the weekend.
