My friends dad died on Halloween. He is 16 and he has 2 younger siblings, one 10 and one 5. They aren't a well to do family, so it is extremely hard having their father gone. Please pray for God to help them through this time. Thanks!!

I will keep them in my prayers... I will pray that God will comfort their family.

Your friend and his family are in my prayers. Life is hard sometimes, and it doesn't always make sense. Our world is full of pain and sorrow. Here is a verse that I hold very close to my heart.

"But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Isaiah 40:31

Just another note. Stating the obvious, the holidays are going to be very hard and emotional time for the family. From personal experience, your friend will want some time to talk (you just listen) other times will want you to distract them and give them something fun to do. You will need to ask God for guidance as to when each one is needed. One thing to remember (again personal experience) is that your friend might want some time to go out and do something fun and new. They might want to forget about their problems for a little while. Also the children might get somewhat forgotten. If they don't have friends that they can play with, spend some time just playing with them.
