Truthfully, there is so much to do onsite, that I don't think geographically it really makes much differance, unless you like to take the kids to the local places, and since few kids rarely get to go to more than one big camporee, (being 5 years apart) the kids don't really know the differance. And the camporee is for the kids, not the staff anyway, in my opinion.

I can't wait to meet some of you when we get to the next camporee,

maybe we should plan a get together for the next one and try to get to meet each other in person.

That would be fun. It would be neat to be able to put a face with a screen name.

Hi one and all. No word yet on Camporee 2009 location?

There might be enough room in many spots in Canada, but lots of the other requirements might not be met.

Canada would be really nice! Something different. Besides more international would be able to attend because of immigration issues.

Meeting at the next one sounds fun. rider1000 will hopefully still be around for that. (No offence rider1000) I for one don't see myself leaving pathfinders for years to come.

Somehow I think that most of us that frequent this forum will be in Pathfinders for years to come, until Jesus comes that is, and then we will have our camporee in Heaven, which is the best place I can think of for an international camporee.

The 2009 NAD camporee website has new information on the next International Camporee!! http://www.camporee.org/2009/

Looks like it will be in Oshkosh, WI again. You can help them choose a theme by voteing on the site even... 8)

I love that we can vote on the theme. I am so hoping that we ahve a group of kids wanting to go to the camporee. It's possible we may be going as volunteers to the 2009 camporee instead of with a club.

Theme Chosen!! Camporee Administration announces:

"Courage to Stand" is the Camporee's theme which will go along with the nighttime drama depicting the story of Esther.

After many surveys conducted with Pathfinder clubs from all over the Division, the online survey*, and all the ideas you submitted, the Nighttime Programming Committee voted "Courage to Stand" as the Camporee's theme.

This theme highlights the "Courage" Esther had "to Stand" up for her faith and her God.

Also check out the two streaming videos that are on the home page. One is a video report about the camporee that my union (NPUC) made, the other is a report on the mission trip to Africa where FOF bibles were distributed. :D

That might be how I end up at the next one as well. Personally, I would like a new place for the camporee though. Three in a row at Oshkosh is good enough for me. Something like Pennsylvania or Colorado? :)
*In secret, I am planning the location of the NAD sponsored International Camporee following 2009.*

I think I have found it! We would have no trouble finding room in Texas.

Or Alaska is even bigger! j/k

Finding a place for that many people takes a lot of planning and preparation.

I like how it kinda fits with the logo from Faith on Fire as far as color and style.

I think that this is one of the best logo's that I have seen for a camporee yet!

The logo has been slightly revised, and a new website is up! The new one is quite nice, although it is not complete as of yet I don't believe.

http://www.camporee.org

I "accidentally" discovered this when I went to camporee.org and found the Center for Youth Evangelism website. Make sure you type the "www."!

Anyhow, just thought I'd let everyone know.

Yes, the new website looks great!! :)

There is also new promo videos up! So, take a look at them. I guess they are actually mostly old. A good portion of the promo video is taken from the Discover the Power Souvenir video. It brought back some good memories, and also made me laugh because of how young several of my friends look in the video.

Check them out at:http://www.camporee.org/view.php?content_id=7&item_id=91

I downloaded the videos to show in the church - it's cheaper than buying the video!

Everyone has been telling about oshkosh, I've visited http://www.camporee.org, and I've watched the promotional video. So I'm really starting to get excited about it (the International camporee), but I want more info, I can't enough, tell me more!

Well, just about everything that anyone know is from that website, so you found the right place to look for info!
