On our way to Oshkosh for DTP, we had a vehcile that belonged to Pathfinder parents that was traveling with us. In St. Louis, the idler pulley on the engine belt started screaming due to bearing failure. The Pathfinder staff wanted to stop at a parts store and purchase the parts so that we could fix the vehcile, but the parent did not want to hold up the club for the repair.

We went on to Battle Creek and then to Oshkosh. At Oshkosh the vehcile was taken to the auto center for repairs. The mechanic stated that it was a good thing they got the car to the shop in time. Once the idler starts making that noise you usually have about 50 miles before the belt fails and the engine stops. The car had been driven 850 miles since it started making noise.

God is good - but I still would have at least bought the parts to fix it.

Mr. Mike
