:smt035 I pretty much play whatever instrument someone'll teach me. Guitar is my favorite. I learned to play on an electric but i also play on acustic. My dad taught me the guitar. my favorite to play to is "standing on the promises" I also play a little trumpet. My grand mom taught me that. My favorite to play along to is "when the roll is called up yonder". And My Cousin taught me the drums, which is a little weird, considering i prefer country. :smt020. I really prefer writing music more thatn playing it though. I have about 40 songs I wrote. everytime something bad in my life happened, i'd write it in a song. God's really blessed me with that talent.

Writing songs is fun! The songs I've written can be counted on my hands though. I really need to take more time to just think, and let God lead sometimes.

My brother and I did write a song for the theme song contest for Faith on Fire Camporee. We didn't win, but I do know the Brueske family who did. They are from the same Pathfinder district as we am.

I don't do much original composing. I often find myself transcribing or modulating. I have a few original compositions that I am working on though.

I play the violin and sing. I also love to mess around on the piano. I love music! It is so fun to just listen to all the different parts of an orchestral piece! I especially love cello nad violin(understandably).

Welcome to the forum FCsnaregirl!! I also play the piano and sing. When I was younger I played in a youth Orchestra and played the snare drum in addition to other percussion.

Well I've been working on learning to play the Organ. I've been so busy with college and such, that even the guitar and piano have slacked off some. Instruments take dedication and practice to get good... :P

Yeah, they sure do...

I (or rather, my family) recently aquired a violin from my great-grandma's house, and us kids have been playing around with it. Man, I need to spend more time with my 'cello... but then again, I haven't been spending enough with piano lately either. AHH!

Why are you fainting about Collegedale? There are quite a few of us here actually.... me included......

to keep on topic... I haven't played baritone since last school year... didn't really enjoy the wind symphony at SAU...

haha.. yea there are a lot of them on here. ;) So you'll get use to it. Glad to have another violinist on here. We seem to have a lot of them also. All I can play on the violin is "twinkle, twinkle little star" , but my brother is really good.

 actually why I'm so interested is because I used to be part of the Hawks pathfinder group. btw, have any of you tried the Mississippi Hotdog on the violin yet? It seems to be quite popular! :p

ah, ok... you used to be one of them jk i don't really have anything against them! I have heard of the Mississippi hotdog, but haven't ever tried it... in fact I've just heard of it, haven't even really heard the music being played.

 It's really just another of the 1001 variations of ol' Twinkles. The funny thing's that it was only after I moved that people wanted me to play with them for gatherings!

I got a few of the variations. At least the ones that are easy to bow. I have never taken lessons anyway.. just played around with my brothers violin.
