Hi! I love music to praise my King! :-) I sing and play the piano and violin. I like to play hymns and some praise songs, and I really like classical music too. How about you all?[/code]

I play the viola, violin (occasionally), piano (not very well), oboe, and I sing in a choir. I am not trying to brag about these. Most of them I don't do very often.

I like classical music as well!

Good, I"m glad you made a thred for music. :P I was thinking about it but hadn't gotten around to it yet.

 I play piano, I'm taking lessons at Walla Walla College this year, so I've gotten in pretty deap on the classical side of it, but I also love to play by ear and with my brother who plays violin.

I also play acustic guitar, bass guitar and love to sing! I've started playing Organ at church now too.

I like hymns and most praise songs. I've even dabbled a bit in song writing a bit.

As far as consuming I like classical music a lot too, and other music that draws me closer to God.

I've been playing the piano for over 10 years now. I'm not taking lessons this year...didn't fit into my schedule. I love to sing as well, but I am not as willing to sing solos as I am to do piano solos. I love singing trios and duets...awesome stuff!!! :smt034

I can vouch for Mitch...he's awesome at everything musical!!! I've experienced it!!! :smt035

I've played piano for about 10 years as well (Mitch & Katie Marie), but this past year, I haven't been taking lessons, partly because I've been mainly focusing on violin. I do hope I can start lessons up again soon, though -- it's hard to keep up practicing! :?

Practicing is the hardest part about playing any musical instrament. It takes lots of time and dedication. Keep practicing everyone, it will be better in the long run. (As if you didn't already know that.)

Most people do. The best part about singing is that it doesn't cost anything.

Yea Emily, I don't see how some people can play, and keep up practicing with 2, 3 or even 4 instuments! My brother playes the violin. :D

*Laughing* That is why I only play one instrament all that well. And once I get to college next year, it will only get harder.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this site, but this topic looked interesting! So here I am! :) I started playing violin when I was 3, and got real good. But then we moved . :( I played through the years at church and stuff, but I can only play by ear! Now I play in our orchestra at church. I can also play the autoharp, but that doesn't take much skill! Our whole family sings, but my dad and sister are the best! I mean good! My sister plays the harp and piano, and my dad plays piano at church. We have a baby grand piano in our house.
I like music that gets as close to heaven as possible :)

Yeah, I know what you mean! I took harp for a while, but decided that violin was the instrument for me. :)

Wow, there are a lot of violinists on here now! You know, pretty soon we'll have a "virtual" orchestra. :P That's awesome, my brother is really good on the violin.

I played the organ for my 2nd time at church last Sabbath. Still trying to get down those foot pedels.

We got this new song in band on Monday. It is INTENSE!!! 4 pages and it's all triplets and 16ths. It's called Abram's Pursuit. A level 4 or 5 piece which is pretty intense. This being our director's last year he wants to go out with a bang. But we're all afraid it's going to kill us, not celebrate us!!! This piece is just plain scary!!!

Welcome Outbackpeak and crazihorse22.

Violin is a very popular instrament. I am not suprised that many of you, like me, can play it.

My church is having a talent show, so my parents, my friends, and I started a band. It's called All For One and my dad plays guitar my mom plays drums, my friend Ariel and I sing, my friend Brian is bass and guitar and Brandon is Sax. We are doing contemporary songs like It is You by Newboys, I Believe by Wes King and next we are going to do Lifesong, Voice Of Truth, and We are the Body by Casting Crowns, and a Audio Adrenalene song, and We Live by Superchic(k)

That's cool that your brother knows my dad! Seems that he was popular with most kids at SJA. :-) He sure is with me!! :D

Casting Crowns does some nice songs. Though I am not really into too many upbeat songs, I do like some of theirs. My favorites are Who Am I, Voice of Truth, and Lifesong. :) 8)
