Cold weather biking is fun...

Today, the high was 49, in Tennessee.... That's really cold for October for us. I need to get some arm warmers.

 right, pfcamper :!:

My ears tend to get really cold too. So I wear a ear band usually under my helmet. :D

But I can't wait tell the snow gets here I love snow biking! 8)

With just about an inch of snow on the ground,
Everything becomes quieter,
With the cascading snow flakes falling down!
ohh perfect cleanness and whiteness all around...

It is really fun to bike in the snow. I just got one of the teen girls in our club addicted to mountain biking this weekend. She road bikes now, but had never really been mountian biking, so we fixed that. She loved it, and I love introducing people to our great sport. The more bikers in the world, the better.

A couple of my friends are going to bring there bikes too, so I can't wait!!

:) Good, mountian biking is my favorite too. I do want to get a road bike of my own someday soon though. My mom and dad have older road bikes that are fun to ride. But, a newer bike would be better.

I do have a couple friends that are hard lined road bikers, but most love mountian biking too. Cycle cross biking is fun too. :D

 Biking would deffenitly be faster sweetlips!

I know around here, we have a punture weed called "goat head"

They will get into the tire and flat us in a second into the ride. But our LBS (local bike shop) has a treatment called 'the works.' It is guarenteed. Consists of a extra thick tube w/goo and a plastic liner in between the tube and the tire. It WORKS!! and they guarentee it too.

I even ride in goat head patchs out back. Never had a flat, except when I had my tire to low and pinch flated it! They even said they were going to fix that I was like NO, that was my fault. I have a good LBS :!:

I love my LBS, to make it even better. It's owned by Adventists. These guys are really great. I have no problem spending tons of money up there, and I get really good service. I haven't had a problem with anything. And I get my service for a great price. Always support you local LBS, no matter what, they will support you any day... :P

My LBS is really friendly to our pathfinder club as well as the local Boy Scouts.

In October they loaned for free 6 mountian bikes for our conference teen event. They weren't new but were very nice, and tuned up perfectly. They even gave us a repair backpack. They also helped us with the bicycling honor a couple years ago and the repair work needed.

I know some people that go to some internet place to buy a bike. I also have no problem spending money and use them solely for parts and such. They are awesome people and gave me a great price for my mountian bike last summer too!!

Too bad there arn't more hometown businesses around... :?

hello rider, it looks like you've snagged a bunch more people into talking about bikes. Oh well, better bikes than dice I guess.

Hello everyone else, don't worry, I like to bike too, I like my LBS, and I really like crazy mountain biking (the kind where, to a normal person, death would be the preferred option). WHEEEEEEEEEE! :smt032 :smt026

:smt103 Yea, but you like dice too.. :smt063 j/k, so how crazy do you get? I have a all mountian bike so it's not totally a free riding bike but it has 5 inch travel in the back. Technical stuff is fun, some jumping, and some dropping, but I kinda like my body to stay in one piece... :smt045

O good, :smt023 You cleared your name!! lol, Acually I think dice sounds like a nice collectors stuff. I collected postage stamps for a while. :smt002

I hate tecnical stuff.I don't get it.

When we say technical and are referring to mountain biking... it is completely different. It means that the trail is very rough and takes a lot of skill to ride it with any ease. It usually involves lots of roots, twists and turns, steep hills, and drops and jumps. These are the most fun to ride... :D
