At 7 am on Christmas morning I'm going on the Michigan Teen Mission Impact trip to the Dominican Republic. I'm both excited and nervous. Don't know what to expect, but I'm counting on interesting at least, lol.

Good luck, mission trips are a great experience. Use this time to grow closer to God, it's really easy when you are devoting your time to helping others. Have fun... :P

Well, I am back from Waveland, Mississippi. The work down there never quits. Often, you feel like you don't make a dent in the pile. Slowly, things are begining to move towards a new normal down there. Walmart is now open, though the selections are fewer than you would expect. The old distribution center is gone as well.

Awesome! A few people that attended the Michigan Teen Mission Impact in the Dominican Republic also went on the trip we took to Africa. You can read more about the trip on some of my previous posts in this topic!

Yeah, and I know some of them! lol. At the Michigan camporee we had a whole big report on the trip to Ghana. Quite interesting.

And I absolutely loved the mission trip, by the way. It was so totally awesome. I'm still figuring it out, lol.

I don't know why we haven't said anything yet, but... VP and I are going on a mission trip over spring break. The crazy part is our destinantion... CUBA!!! It's gonna be crazy fun, but crazy expensive. And with both of us being seniors, It's already an expensive year, with class trip and all. OH well, please keep us in your prayers... thanks :P

So, what are you guys going to be doing there? Evangalism?

Don't forget everyone, to let God take over so you can live everyday on a mission trip!! :smt060

Yeah, we've got a few spanish people going with us... VP likes one of them alot... ;) okay, so maybe not... It's a guy that really gets on his nerves... hehe

We are doing 7 evangelism meetings every night, a crazy thing for a group of kids. The meetings are going to be 3 weeks long, nightly. Thats a lot of meetings to preach. VP is going to be a speaker at one of the sites, I'm just going as a technical support person. But it will still be fun

actually, he knows how vp feels about him... that's what makes it even funnier... This guy does things just to annoy vp, it's quite hilarious for me actually

Anyway, we are going to be staying in San Antonio de los Banos. Don't ask me where that is, I have no idea :smt102

This person does know that I don't enjoy his constant abuse. :smt011
He is the devil's own tool to ruin my mission spirit.

It is hard to work with people that you don't get along with, but when you show them love or at least not hate it helps..

:( I think that's one of the hardest thing about the mission fields and missionaries. There are always people that are there to make it hard for missionaries and satan uses them. So having a close connection and being totally surendered on a mission trip wether short or long is vital.

:) Hope God can use both of you awesomely VP and rider1000 :!: Don't let saten get in the way. :smt018 It's sounds like an awesome adventure. That's what I like about serving the Lord. :D

I've never been on a Pathfinder mission trip, but my family and another family we know are going this March to El Salvador. We'll be doing an evangelistic series, and I'll probably be doing the health talks for both the adult and childrens' programs. :D I know it will be an exciting opportunity for me! It'll improve my Spanish  and most importantly, bring me closer to God. My parents always say that the mission trip is not always for the people you're visiting, it also does a lot for you, to bring you to the true reality that people in America just don't realize how blessed (and sometimes spoiled!) we really are. :)

That is so true! Many of the mission trips that I have been on have benifited me just as much as those I helped.

Yes. I did digress a little. Sorry.
Me and my pathfinders club are planning to go on a mission trip to Mississippi to help in the repair of Bass Memorial Academy. We are set to leave the 26th
of December. Wish us luck! :)

That is really cool. I stopped by Bass on my way back from a trip to Waveland, Mississippi. I hope you will post a short report about your trip!

Here's an update, kinda sad story.

The original mission trip was arranged by Maranotha and Mr. Henry Livergood. It was schelduled to go off in December. Mr. Livergood got sick, with of all things, a bad liver. :| The trip was postponed, then canceled. But our director called the pricipal and arranged for us to go down there as a club by ourselves. So we go in March, I think. Anyways, please continue to pray for us, and pray that Mr. Livergood finds a liver soon.

I found that my mission trip showed me the world church and improved my understanding of it. I have never ever found a more friendly church then Villa Verde, Santiago, Dominican Republic. I was so blessed and now appreciate what I have so much more. It was so worth all the hardwork and sweat I and my team put into it!!!

That is too bad. I was down in Mississippi again about the same time your trip was to take place. I hope that Mr. Livergood gets better. And I hope that you will be able to go down there this time.

God bless!

Please keep our group in your prayers, and remember the people of cuba that we are trying to reach... If you want updates on the trip, check out church.southern.edu :P

Thanks for all the prayers, we appreciate it
