We'll be praying for you. Oh, and in case you've never been on an overseas mission trip, don't expect to come back the same person. It will be a life changing experience. Learn all you can from the people.

I have a friend (Julia) from Mission College here that is most likely going to Cuba next year for an evangelistic series. Pray that she can raise the rest of the money she needs. It would be a very good experience for her! :)

It will change her life. Going to a communist country completely changed how I look at life. It's awesome, she will learn a lot from the people down there.

Rider1000 is right. Cuba is unique. The people there can really show their faith.

Their dedication is amazing. It's so hard for them to be faithful that there are no lukewarm Adventists... we could learn a lot from them.

Amen. Anybody want to go to Cuba? Rider1000 and I can put you in touch with the right people.

Tis true. I think I'm gonna go again in the summer of 08 with Mark Finley. I talked to him in November and he said if I could raise the funds, there wouldn't be any problem in me going.

Quote:
Let those who feel the burden of establishing these institutions have wise solicitors to present their necessities and raise funds. Let the people of the world be aroused, let the denominational churches be canvassed by men who feel the necessity that something be done in behalf of the poor and orphans. In every church there are those who fear God. Let these be appealed to, for to them God has given this work. {6T 286.3}

Anyone who is willing to serve for God and do His will can do anything for Him!! :!: Don't let funds be your stopping point! Just ask Him to help, and trust that He will take care of everything. 8)

:o Well I'm off to my conf. (UCC) Teen Pathfinder Mission Adventure. This year there are 80 teens going. Should be fun, unfortunately, I ripped my fingernail off Friday but, I am leading out in door to door outreach so it shouldn't hamper me much. Except, it looks as if I won't be playing the guitar this year. But, I should still be able to play my keyboard. 8)

For the brave: visit my website in my profile to see pictures!
(wow, it takes a while to type with one hand!)

Check out my site for most of the story - http://www.xanga.com/emmykrishe.

Thanks for all your support, peoples! :D

P.S. Sorry Mitch about your finger! Hopefully it won't keep you from your guitar for too long!

Oh wow, thats too bad about your finger Mitch. Glad you chose to look at it optimistically!

Just a question but has anyone here seen or heard about the program invisible children. (It's about the twenty year war that has been raging on in Uganda and all the children being abducted to fight)

If there's a book about it, then yes. I will check to see if this book is about that, but if it is, it's very sad

I'm registered for a mission trip coming up in December. I don't know if any of you have heard of it. It's gotten popular and we have people coming from all over the world. It's called Cruise With A Mission. You can check it out and Cruisewithamission.org We will get on a cruise ship in Florida and sail to 3 different location to do mission work. while we're at sea, there will be different workshops, activities, and concerts going on. It's a huge youth retreat of sorts for 18-35 year olds. It's going to be amazing and I just hope that I can come up with the rest of the money. God bless the rest of you in your journeys. Happy Sabbath!

I saw something on 3abn last night about UltimateWorkout. I had heard about it before, but seeing that and then going to the website afterwards made me fall completely in love with the idea. I so want to go next summer (registration for this summer is already closed)... The only problem is that my parents would probably never let me leave the country. I don't think it's fair to keep a kid from doing mission work, but hey, "Honor you father and mother," right? So whatever they decide I'll go with.
