So, i'm really looking forward to Oshkosh 2009. I was at Faith on Fire Camporee and loved it. I unfortunately dropped out of Pathfinders a few years after (high school can be so busy sometimes...especially junior year), but I came back in this year because OshKosh is so amazing! I just wanted to know how other people were planning to get there, how long of a drive/flight/boat/sky-dive (i know, i'm getting a little crazy) it takes to get there, etc. Basically everything and anything Oshkosh related. :D

That's ok. You weren't wrong, I just like to attempt to keep like topics together. I don't believe that those areas are specifically for where and what though.

How many people were at Oshkosh???? I am going to go this next year, and it sounds really exciting and alot of fun. I think we have a 3 day bus ride. Last time, my club took the train. I think that is a good idea. But then you would miss out on all the sightseeing.

There were over 33000 people at the last International Camporee. Train travel is awesome. I bet it was an interesting experience.

yeah, OshKosh always has a mind-boggling amount of people, but its always fun too.
Train sounds awesome. I believe i'm flying though (and very glad about that, i get motion sick way too easily. Driving would be bad.)

My club will be going. I liked faith on fire, but it was really cold. What really got me was that fire was not allowed, and it was faith on FIRE. But yeah I would do it again in a minute (ok, I would probably wait at least until tomorrow). Anyways, my club will be driving.

Hey David! lol, i remember that fire rule...it was kinda sad cause it was so cold. Oshkosh was amazing though. I have a question for anyone (and everyone) out there. What are you looking forward to the most at Courage to Stand? I am looking forward to the nightly shows. I hope the mummy shows up (even though he doesnt belong. :) )

Lol! I loved the mummy... though I doubt he'll be at CTS! I'm looking forward to everything. I went to the last one, but I didn't do very much, and I wish that I would have. This time I want to do more!

The showers there are disgusting (or so I heard. I was so cold there was NO WAY I was taking a shower). Next time, I'm bringing moist towelettes and giving myself spongebaths. Seriously.

I never even pretended to try to take a shower there. I heard from those who did that it was cold and super crowded... towards the middle of the week I went swimming at the Y and took a shower there. That was good. Of course with how cold it was it wasn't like anyone was stinking if they didn't take a shower.

Going to use a hotel shower or the ones everyone else has to use? Is that what you are hooked on, or is it these camporees?

I am so upset. :( We won't be able to go cause our Pathfinder instructor doesn't have enough hours at work to go....

Unfortunately I will have to miss out on Osh Kosh. :(

But I definitely will be going on the mission trip

Oh no! missing Oshkosh sucks! Well, have fun on your mission trip. Personally, Oshkosh was the whole reason I joined this year... I didnt have a ton of time to spare this year, but it was Oshkosh year so I made pathfinders fit. :) See, i had dropped out 2 years ago because of time issues... but Oshkosh was one of my favorite memories. I cant wait to go!
