Backpacking is fun (look at me all late in the topic)

And while the northwest DOES have nice places to hike, I've been to some of them, NOWHERE can compare to Yosemite :D THATS the place to be! I'm TELLING YOU!

Our conference owns a church camp up there in Yosemite, and I've gone hiking (and backpacking... like a 29 mile trip) and climbed Half Dome, went up the falls, and sheesh.... If you like hiking, and u live anywhere near Yosemite (within a day or two drive or passing by) I RECOMMENT YOU GO FOR IT!

Absolutely beautiful... I'm goin there next weekend to get away for a while from everything. Just relax and clear my mind.... be at one with nature... *assumes lotus position*

OOOOHHHMMMMMMMMMM...... OOOOHHHHMMMMMMMM...... hehe j/k

Yes backpakcing is great. I think since those ppl form michigan are here to stay, so they might take us to the adorondax which will be so much fun. I hope we get to go.

Ya no matter what time of year I go to a camporee or area campout its always freezing. One time during April it was snowing. I have learned to come prepared. I've been going to these things for 12 years, but I have only been a pathfinder for 6/7.

I froze every night at the meetings. I wore just about everything I had and was still cold.

I was baptized Sabbath at Oshkosh, the water was freezing. One good thing about it though, I'll never forget it. Cool experience.

Wow that would be a good memory. I got baptized at my church with my best friend and it was a pathfinder baptism so I wore my uniform. It was going to be two of my best friends but the one decided he wasn't ready yet.

Yep, Oshcosh would have counted I think :!: I"m thinking most of the nights were in the 40's :? . Then all you would have left was two nights below freezing... :D For me oshcosh wasn't to cold, but I was glad when it warmed up the weekend!

I don't know this year we had a "snow campout" the second week of january here in the mountains of Oregon. We had planned to bring snowmobiles. But there was NO SNOW :x and the daytime tempature was in the 60s/70s. Night time not getting below the 40s. It was nice but no snow... :(

Well, snow might could have been really cold to camp in. :smt006

Maybe you would have froze in the cold, that would be bad. Then if you got frostbite you couldn't be posting here. That would be bad too.

While I was at a area campout it snowed and was below 40 and my toes turned blue and luckily it was in a park so there was a bathroom with a heater so my friends and I all sat in there and tried to get warmed up. We were also wet b/c we went caving and the whole cave had water running through it lol. But it was so much fun.

That's the fun stuff. Camping in miserable weather is sometimes fun. But other times it's not. I guess its just what you enjoy. :smt026

No matter what the weather I enjoy it. I know while I'm there I don't but after I can look back and laugh and see how much fun I had and can say guess wat I did.

Yippidy do dah, Page 6 :!: :!: :!: :smt026

Yeah, it's always more fun to laugh at how stupid we where to do certain things. But if we don't learn from these things, like to take more warm clothes to Oshkosh next time, we aren't very good at this.

Hey ya all. Ya it is fun. And if we don't learn from it we have a real problem. I know I will defently learn and I won't forget it. This year we have all girls. And two of my best friends are in there and its so funny because I told the one that she had to keep us all warm.

 What a story pfcamper!! It acually reminds me of a Camporee my conference had like 4 years ago... IT RAINED AND RAINED THE WHOLE TIME!!

We were survivors :D !! Allot of clubs left but we stayed the whole weekend. The main meeting were cancled but there was a round robin from big tent to big tent.. :) It was still an awesome weekend.

Weather isn't a stoping factor for me, :? at least most of the time :!:

Rain is fun. I love biking in the rain, it adds a little to the experience. It makes it more interesting I guess.

:D ... ahh biking in the rain is fun!! Biking when it is snowing is even better tough :!:

With just about an inch of snow on the ground,
Everything becomes quieter,
With the cascading snow flakes falling down!
ohh perfect cleanness and whiteness all around...

It's fun
