I also do have the metal slide. I never had problem that the slide slides down. It will be as how it is but currently I'm changing to the new fabric slide since only a few of us in our mission has this metal slide and since its very precious now, better keep it as memory rather than using it and losing it.

I hope that the metal slides would resurface again in near future. Somehow I dont like the new fabric slide as much as I liked the metal slide. Cheers

Let me clarify what you're asking. You want to know if it would violate any rules or anything like that to make your own metal slides? Sorry, just want to make sure I know what you're asking! :D

i'm thinking of making a slide that has my mission map and pathfinder logo etched in it....

Your "area" Division, Mission Conference... Can produce whatever guidlines, within the doctrine and division working policy of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, it chooses for administering it ministries. Sounds very official, I know. It means that if your mission likes the metal slides and wants to put out the money for them you are welcome to do it.

I would not suggest using an American manufacturer though, in you region of the globe you will be far less expensive to produce them in your own country, India, Thialand, Taiwan, ROC, Korea or other industrialized nation in the region.

If you ever do get them done, you let me know I want one.

God Bless,

In the Texas Conference, there is a metal slide that has the state of Texas on it with the Pathfinder shield.

We also have a special metal slide with the state of Texas on it and the Master Guide emblem on it.

They both look awesome.

We also have a heavy duty metal belt buckle with a combination of Texas and Pathfinders on it.

Other states and/or conferences should have their own metal slides and belt buckles. They look awesome worn as part of the class A uniform.

I have one of these slides and gaurd it with my life. So many people ask me where I got it and I tell them it was given to me in the Great State of Texas where I completed my Master Guide. It is the only slide I wear.

Sew a small safety pin to the back of the material slide and pin it to the scarf - might stop them sliding off and getting lost.

I read somewhere of glueing felt inside the tube helps stop sliding off too.

Yes, the felt idea works well. Also, if you tie an overhand knot in the scarf and slide the slide on over the knot that keeps it on pretty well.
