Is the forest green suit still the official Masterguide uniform? If yes, where can these be purchased? (For both males and females). If no, what is the new uniform or are there plans to have a new one soon?

Yes, the Master Guide Class "A" Uniform (complete with Jacket) is still the official uniform. That standard is set by the General Conference.

I'm not sure where to purchase it. I would guess Adventsource?

It is not special order but it is special request at adventsource.

It is the current US Army issue enlisted/NCO Class A Green Suit. You can get them new from military sources and some times lightly used at surplus shops. The Officer's Uniform with the black stripe on sleeve or leg is expressly not it. Cost varies widley in the used catagory and They are not cheap new.

You can get the Uniform online from the website. Or what we do is befriend anyone in or retired from the army take your basic measurements and get ehm to order you a Class A Dress Uniform. Men get Pants and Women Get skirts. Then a simple Pathfinder Tan shirt and order a sash. The Pins will have the Eagle hold Olive Branches but if you prefer, they are simplr enough to change and any tailor shop will have gold pins you can use in there place.

Good Luck

I got mine off of Ebay, just have to get a skirt that fits, and change the buttons. I have a bit over a month to finish my MG in time for our spring camporee ;)

I just ordered my Class A Green suit from a local uniform store. Is the official uniform with or without cords/braids? (I ordered without)

Officer's Piping or braids are excluded specifically for NAD by the uniform changes in 01'. The plain uniform is the correct one, hope you enjoy it.

I got mine from Marlow White Uniforms. They make the long "army style" jacket for men and women, and will also custom make "Ike" jackets in green as well (that's what I have).

If you want a standard Army Issue uniform go to http://www.marlowwhite.com

If you would like an Ike jacket, they are custom made and are significantly less expensive if ordered in some quantity. e-mail me for details. KB9LWW@MSN.COM Put "Master Guide Uniform" in the subject line.

I went to the above listed site for army uniforms. The Army Enlisted Class A uniform for women appears to be charcoal gray, not green. Is that really how they are, or are they supposed to be army-green? I was under the impression that they were really green, but have yet to find anything green at the website. Just curious.

It looks the same on my monitor as well, it is the same army green it has been for about three decades though.

Just out of curiosity, I know someone who was in the military for several years. This person keeps his braids and wistle on his uniform. I don't know if this person is still part of the military or not. If he is, would this be an exception to the MG rule?

PS- He is a conference drill master.

No, but then the rule itself becomes highly variant in the local adaptation for those who are participating in Pathfinders and other Youth Ministries.

A military uniform from any branch has a purpose and place. From time to time our Pathfinder Director in Arizona wears his for demonstration, he was a Marine Corp NCO. The use of a military uniform is regulated by law and rules as is the MG uniform the improper mixing and of the two is just that improper.

I suspect though that your Conference Drill Master has the braids on his MG uniform for some purpose other than military connection and where I am from most leaders of any level wear whistles.

I am nearly sure that he is not doing disgrace to either uniform and that one is entirely seperate from the other in his mind.

As Ms Linda answered under your other post there has been no official diagram in years and at this moment there has never been an official change (there will be).

Under other areas this has been discussed in detail, the simplest answer is if you are a MG active with a PF club it is common practice to set up your jacket according to the shirt diagram's.

Yes, the diagram in the PF Staff Manual is for the uniform shirt. It does not mention the MG uniform at all, and neither does the MG Curriculum Manual. As I (and Fish and a couple of others) have said in this and another thread, right now the way most people do it is to set up the jacket like your shirt, including all the patches and pins. :)

Thank you. I will follow the tradition of setting my MG uniform up like the pathfinder shirt.

It is finally done, I think. Do you where the scarf and sash under the jacket?

No, I believe it's usually over the jacket.

Usually those who choose to wear a scarf wear it over the coat. You will not normally wear your sash with your suit, does not really fit and is not the actual uniform, you will wear it at times when you do not wear your coat.

That said many do wear their sash over their coats and bulk aside those who care look okay that way.

I need something settled once and for all with regards to the color of the Master Guide Uniform. I know that it's green, but with the color change of the class A dress uniform for Pathfinders in the NAD, is that or will it affect the Master Guide Uniform at any time? I've got one staff member saying that the uniform is changing to black, and that it is just those who currently have the green MG uniforms that can keep them. I'm saving my pennies to get a MG uniform before NAD Leaders Convention in February and I want to have an answer on this before I go out and but my uniform. That, and I really want to correct my staff members on this subject.

I remember at Oshkosh camporee when it was mentioned that the uniforms were changing to black, it was also stated that the Master Guides had their choice of staying with the green or changing to the black. What is the correct color or does it really matter? I need to order a new uniform and do not want to do so until I know for sure.
