I'm planning an Area Camp-out. It will be an honor camp-out event. My problem is, I even asked the directors for ideas and nothing yet from them, what kind of activities to do during the evening on Saturday. Any ideas will be appreciated.

What we usually do at our area campouts on Sat. night is camping skills. In the past, the Voyagers and Guides have helped the staff teach in order to get their requirements in. For example, let's say you're a Voyager in the O club. The friends go to the O club and are taught Camping Skills one (not all requirements, but most of them), and the you (the Voyager[s])have to pick two and teach them.

The last area campout we had, the Voyagers and Guides actually earned a honor of their own, though--backpacking and wilderness living. We are planning a campout this summer sometime to complete the requirements.

Anyhow, that's one idea of something you could do.

I do have on the list Camp Craft for the new Pathfinders since the others do have the Camping Skills. Summer is bad in here since most of the clubs don't meet during the summer months.

You will find some more adventurous ideas in the teen zone section for after dark activities.

I know that this is quite a bit latter, but you could also work on the Christian story telling honor.

I am late to help with that campout, but on Saturday evenings for supper we have our famous Camp Stew, (I will post that resipe in a little while in the Camping Resipes section,) and bread on the stick, and after that smores. After supper we usully just sit around the campfire and talk, or some people, (I don't know why,) go in their tents and get in their sleeping bags to talk. At Jambore once, the clubs played a sort of tag, but I think it depends on where you are camping to play that. :D
