G'day Everyone,
last sunday our club did the Geocache Honour. The kids loved it and so did the adults that helped out. We had an absolutly great time, it was a lovell sunny winters day, but we kept warm running from one cache to another. If anyone is interested I have put together a Powerpoint and a work book. They are both available on my personel website for a short time(probably a few weeks) at:
http://www.users.tpg.com.au/rathome/Geo ... rkbook.doc
http://www.users.tpg.com.au/rathome/htt ... coming.htm

I highly recommend doing this honour, its loads of fun!!!!

last weekend we finished most of the advanced honor, and basic for those that hadn't completed it yet. It was great!

We picked up a few travel bugs, and we're taking them with us this weekend... see where they get dropped off and all ;)

Glad to hear that you enjoyed working on the honor. Several of us spent a great deal of time last summer getting it ready to present. I also have a power point presentation that was put together to show at Oshkosh. I'll try to put it out on my club's website soon. One funny point though - I still don't have my advanced honor. I haven't had a chance to put out a cache.

We're putting out our caches this week. AND we found a TB in the area... that's a pathfinder! :O His name is woody, and he's traveled to central california from Wisconsin. He attended FOF, and we MUST take a picture with him hehe

Can anyone tell me if this honour is completely approved, and is there a patch ready yet ?

My conference patch ordering person cannot seem to be able to order it. Is there some part # or something I can pass along to place this order ?

Thanks
Gerald G.

As of June, our conference was not able to order them yet. I don't know if that's changed and the physical honor is completed by now. It should be, so I suggest you contact your conference Pathfinder director and ask them about it. :)

We're working on our multi-level geocache this weekend. It'll be awesome by the time we're done! :D

By far the best Pathfinder honer to date! It was a lot of fun getting it ready to approve! To all that have regestered on the Geocaching website, email me from my GC profile and let me know who you are. I am known as Super_Nate...

Keep up the great work, and it will be fun to see the advanced Geo honer come out sometime!

Nate, the advanced honor IS out already. It's similar to the first, and the requirements are found on the pathfindersonline.org page.

We're currently working on the advanced honor right now. It requires a little more time, and some of the options are to track / have and track a TB for 6 months, or to operate a cache in your area for 6 months.

You should check it out.

How come the creators of the geocaching honour Basic required you to find 3 caches? and for the advanced 15 (from memory). This quantity is way too few.
Either they made a typo leaving out zeros or they thought there were not many caches out there. This should be reviewed. In my opinion the basic honour you should find 30 and for the advanced close to 150 caches found. Compare this to the Letterbox Honour. For this you need to find 10 letterboxes and 20 more for the advanced. In the numbers available to find there would be close to 60 Letterboxes in the South Island NZ and close to 5000 geocaches. I would be sure that the ratio would be similar in other parts of the world.

in some part of the world caches-places exist not so large amount. In my town it is only 5. And im all region aprox 10. Don't level only on yourself
