Several new Pathfinder honors were voted during the YPAC Lincoln Meetings, March 2011. While the requirements and honor patches are still not availabe, we thought you'd like to know what is coming!

    Waterfalls
    Rivers and Streams
The Ultimate and Advanced (a game using flying discs)
    Odonates (Dragonflies, Damselflies, etc.)
    Postcards and Advanced
Water Safety Instructor and Advanced -- to match WSI certificationm requirements
Basic Water Safety and Advanced -- to match Levels I and II Red Cross Requirements. All other existing swimming honors have been updated dramatically to match current Red Cross standards.

Awesome, I've always liked ultimate.
Great group game, IMHU. Just need a frisbee, some people, and a field.

Anyone know when (and where) the requirements will be available? I like that there are new honors to work with, but AdventSource is often slow in getting requirements or patches, as are the online Pathfinder websites. Particularly looking for the Water Safety requirements, as we like to get started in the summer with our new Pathfinder year.

Our goal is to have both patches and requirements available by the beginning of the Pathfinder year following the vote. about 70% of the time, that is what happens. The other 30% we have issues crop up that delay the release. We do NOT release requirements before patches are available because some directors just can't "handle" not being able to order the patch "right now" and thus they abuse the AdventSource staff with pestering questions and unChristian verbal behaviors. So...we work to avoid that whenever possible!

Most of this list have the patches being created in May-June so hopefully....I still have to put finishing touches on a couple of the honor requirements anyway....;)

Could not find the right page to enter this question/clarification.
Have looked at wiki answers on the Christain Citizenship Honour. One question. When flag is placed on or near the speakers lecturn in a church or esewhere what side does it go on? Wkii answers say 'When placed with a podium or at a place of worship the flag should be hang directly behind or on a pole to the right of the speaker, from the point of view of the audience.' But the protocol link shows picture of speaker facing audience with the flag to his right (the audiences left). In my view the text on the wiki answer should be amended to read that the flag is on the left side of the stage as viewed by the audience.
This may be an issue as this is now an important honour in the class requirments.
Geoff

Flag protocol varies from one country to another. In the US, they have recently simplified the display of the flag. It used to be on the audience's left if it were up on a platform with the speaker, and on the audience's right if it were on the same level as the audience (i.e., no platform). The new rules are that the flag goes to the audience's left regardless.

As for the Wiki - there's an edit button right there waiting for you to click it. ;-)

can someone send me the requirements for these new honors? I would hate to do part of the requirements during our camps only to repeat part of it or all of it and more. they are taking far too long to become available. thanks

I have been waiting for a disc golf honor to come out, but was told it melded with ultimate, which is ok but saddening at the same time, esp being an avid discer my self if you could help that would be amazing. I don't imagine anything is published yet, but I expect the Ultimate to start like this...

1. Know the basic rules of basketball.
1. Know the basic rules of slow-pitch softball.
1. Know the basic rules of soccer.

by extrapolation...

1. Know the basic rules of Ultimate.

Just guessing.

Just noticed Advent Source has the Basic Water Safety patch now - #005085

Doesn't show up in the recreation honors, just through search.
