Who can sign off the requirements? Does it need to be a Master Guide? I am doing the Master Guide curriculum as part of my homeschooling- Can my mom sign off(she is a staff member in my PF club)? Does the person just need to be able to verify that I completed a certin requirement in order to sign- this is the problem that I'm having- my PF director is a MG, but she cannot verify that I did the work. :?

Usually, it is required that a Master Guide sign off each item that you complete. They are more than willing to take your word for it, but will still ask you to show some proof (I know it isn't the best word) at times.

If you can't show the work you doing and you mom I imagine doing the homeschooling with you she can testify in your behalf to your director.

I had to do that at one point because I was gone on a trip and didn't have an MG with me.

I know what you mean. Last Sabbath I went to an Adventurer Induction program and when my friend saw me that's when he remember that he didn't bring the card for me to sign one of the requirements. The funny part was that his daughter said to him: Don't worry dad, she's coming over for Thanksgiving.

That is all right on. A Master Guide, any Master Guide, can sign off. Normally people who are Area Coordinators and Conference Directors are Master Guides, if not they are people of notary so their signature will normally be accepted by the Conference Director.

If I were signing for you I would ask a couple of questions on a topic to show that you have the expected knowledge and then take the word of your mother as a good witness.

God Bless,

I was kinda wondering the same thing, so this was helpful to me. I'm pretty much in the exact situation as Jessica_Lucci2006

WHAT IF THE REQUIREMENT WAS COMPLETED IN A DIFFERENT CONFERENCE? DO YOU HAVE TO REDO THE REQUIREMENT OR GET THAT PERSON FROM THE OTHER CONFERENCE TO SIGN?

If you can get the MG in the other conference to sign off, I would think that would be ideal. Otherwise, you should have an MG in your conference talk to the MG in the other conference. Or if you can convince an MG in your conference that you did the work, he or she might sign off without proof. MG's have to take some things on faith anyhow - after all, I would say none of them ever witness a candidate reading the Encounters series (etc). I would tend to give a candidate the benefit of the doubt unless I had reasons not to.

I've sometimes seen that some conferences allow church pastors to sign off MG cards... I guess the thought is if they've been through that much ministry training, that their "seal of approval" on PF stuff is valid..... I agree with previous posts about having to take some of what a person tells the "instructor/signer" for granted....

I heard one of my conference coordinators say this past weekend that he would sign off anything that you asked him too. He believes in trusting people 100% and if they are lying, that is their conscious and their business with God.

I kinda have to agree with what rider's area coordinator's philosophy on this stuff is. And no matter how much you try to be "secure" about signing off, there's always someone who's gonna "get away" with something that they didn't quite do right...
