Are there any requirements for when you can be Invested as a MG? Do you have to wait for a Conference Event, ie Camporee, Campmeeting?
Or can you just have a MG handy and be Invested at Church?

You can be invested any time & at any place available. If your card has been submitted to the Conference Pathfinder Director and accepted you are ready for investiture. It is a common practice to be invested by a mentor or family member who is a Master Guide. Often this is a special ceremony during the church service and can be done during the club's investiture or when ever you can work it out.

It is a public event. It should be done during a church gathering or event of some type. This is much for the same reasons marriage, baptism and other events are public. It is the public vow and statement of faith and responsiblity for all to know.

God Bless,

I plan to get invested at this Fall Camporee, for a couple of reasons. One, it is the weekend after I complete my final term of school. Also, it is the last time I will be a member of the Northern New England Conference, as I will be moving to Ohio after complete school. I am already checking to see if there are any clubs in the area I will be moving to.

Cailin,

Pastor Mike Hughes is the Youth Director in Ohio. Good guy, loves Pathfinders. Give him a call and ask.

I know there are several in the southern part of Ohio where I grew up (3 of the ones I was acquainted with were at FOF), but I'm sure he has a more comprehensive list.

I grew up in Portsmouth Ohio, then Canton OH.

http://www.plusline.org should have the Ohio Conference phone number.

Hey everybody,

I have just finished my MG :smt041 and I am hoping to be invested during Thanksgiving weekend Sabbath.

My father-in-law is a MG and is planning on being here that weekend. We have two other MG ready for investiture and I hope we can all get "done" at the same time.

We have several MGs in our church who are not even active in any ministry. I am the Adventurer Dir. at our church, and we had Induction tonight, as I looked over my program I noticed that I have 3 MG on my staff :D , with me that makes 4 :!:

I Praise God for my staff, with out them I would be up to my Eye balls with stuff to do.

Turns out I'm not moving to OH.... it didn't work out. TX and MD are possibilities, though.

Congratulations on finishing your MG work.

We always have the Conference Pathfinder Director look over the card before investing a MG. Our conference is small enough that we all know who is working on MG or above.

Next, get a PLA card and start working on the requirements. This will also take time, but there is no time like the present to get started. Look for Conference Leadership Weekends that teach the course work. They maybe only taught every few years, so you don't want to miss a session and have to wait for it to come around again.

Again, congratulations :!:

Mr Mike

Ok, so now I'm ready for MG investiture. 8) There are three of us to be invested. We are going to have it as part a Church Service, so that the church can be aware of the fact that MG are not just Pathfinders but church leaders.

So do we wear the PF uniform or just dress clothes? :smt101 If we wear a uniform, which uniform should I wear? :smt102 I am Deputy Director of our PF club, but I am Director of our Adventurer Club. Of other two candidates, one is our Youth Pastor, who has a PF uniform, and the other use to be a PF Director but is not presently part of the Club.

Any Suggestions :?:

Well, my question as to which uniform to wear was answered for me. Our Pastor informed us that the Sabbath Service was a no go, and our PF Director offered to have the MG investiture during the PF Induction service which was held Nov. 4. :P

If everything goes according to plan, I want to be invested in April, when we have our Investiture here in Panama City.

Mr. Bob Kimbro, be ready :D Do I need to purchase any supplies for the investiture or does the conference provide it?

Under most circumstances the Conference will provide you with one of each item for Master Guide. Later if you want extra pins you will need to purchase those for yourself.

I'm officially a Master Guide! YAY! I wound up having to purchase all my supplies like the scarf, slide, pin etc. I decided to be invested at Camporee just last Sabbath (Oct. 21), which coincidentally fell on my brother's birthday LOL. I left it to be a big surprise to my club. The only ones who knew about it were the directors. The kids were all so surprised. It was a blast.

Most every MG that I know has gotten invested at a pathfinder camporee. One of my friends got invested twice (once at club investiture, so his parents could see, and then officially at the conference camporee). I have often wondered how that raises church awareness. Having said that, it was too hard to get my parents to come to the conference camporee, so my brother and I got invested in front of the entire church. Which is a better way of getting invested, at church or camporee?

I think that's depend. This past year I was teaching the MG class and this past Sabbath we did the Investiture of 10 new MG at the church, which were represented by three different churches. After the service, the pastor, who became a MG, invited the other churches to get together again another another time for a service. During the potluck, the pastor of one of the other church told me that it was a good idea and they were talking about doing it in November before Thanksgiving.
