Pathfindering Loses Leader
Eliezer Meléndez Vázquez, 80, a well-known and influential Adventist youth leader throughout Inter-America, died on January 17 surrounded by his family members at home in Virginia, United States. He had been battling a variety of health problems.
A youth ministries director at the Inter-American Division (IAD) headquarter office in Miami, Florida, from 1998-2001, Pastor Meléndez oversaw thousands of youth leaders, master guides and pathfinders in the territory throughout his life.
A native of Puerto Rico, Pastor Meléndez served as a teacher, youth pastor, dean, district pastor, youth director, education director and health director from the 1950s to the 1990s in Puerto Rico and Mexico. He also served
Central California Pathfinders "Christmas in the Park"
Several Central California Pathfinder clubs participated in a "Christmas in the Park" tradition decorating a town Christmas tree. Christmas in the Park is visited by 500,000 people each year.

1 Million Pathfinder Miles Challenge

The NAD has launched Adventists InStep for Life, an initiative to raise awareness about childhood obesity and improve the health of kids and families. One of the goals of this initiative is to reach 1 million miles of physical activity this year. We are uniting our efforts to reach that yearly goal in 1 day. In order to reach that, the NAD has set aside Sunday, September 25, 2011 as Let’s Move Day.

Pathfinder Strong Song Author, Henry T. Bergh, Last Pathfinder Pioneer, Passes Away at 93 in California
On July 15, 2011, Pathfinder pioneer and author of the International Pathfinder theme song "Pathfinder Strong," died in Oakhurst, CA, USA, according to his daughter, Judi.
Pathfinders around the globe have sung this often translated, more often sung song "Oh we are the Pathfinder’s Strong, the servants of God are we, faithful as we march along, in kindness, truth and purity. A message to tell to the world,
